The Hands of the Maker
I handcraft unique and sophisticated jewelry designs in my light filled studio in Landenberg, Pennsylvania. Most of my items are eclectic in the way I combine materials, texture and color. My signature style, meticulous craftsmanship, rich color combinations, uniqueness and elegant artistry are evident in each piece of my work.
For as long as I can remember I have created things with my hands and visualized the world in unique ways. I vividly recall my first art museum class when I was eight years old. My painting was an abstracted geometric still life of musical instruments with multiple patterns, textures and earthy colors.
I am inspired by rich colors, world music, vibrant cultures, organic textures and antique patinas. I create my jewelry designs using a mixed media approach and I am always interested in exploring new techniques and developing new styles. My designs have an eclectic aesthetic given the combination of elements I combine together as I continue to “treasure hunt” for interesting and unique stones and elements. I also love experimenting with new finishes and forms for exciting new work.
I usually start with raw brass which I texture and antique. I incorporate paints, inks, resin, powders, leather, clay and fiber in addition to a vast assortment of gemstones, pearls and crystals. Working with resin and clay gives me the opportunity to create custom colors and textures that are included in many of my pieces.
I have a collection of designs including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pins and one of a kind statement pieces. My jewelry is available for sale on ETSY, in my studio, as well as local boutiques and galleries. My intent is to handcraft beautiful, unique, elegant and sophisticated jewelry designs for you to love and enjoy wearing. According to my customers, get ready to receive some compliments!
